WJXT-TV4 The Local Station has the most watched local news for the February 2017 Nielsen ratings period in the Jacksonville television market, winning in every major local news time period for the month. Outside of news, WJXT is #2 overall in Prime. For total day, WJXT is #1 beating WTLV, WJXX, WJAX, WFOX and WCWJ for M-F 3am-3am average.
In Morning News, News4JAX at 5am is #1 in the time period with a 4.0 household rating winning versus the combined competition of WTLV, WJXX, WJAX and WFOX. At 5:30am, News4JAX won with a 5.5, again beating all other news competitors combined. News4JAX at 6am is #1 in household ratings in the 6-7am time period garnering a 7.3 household rating and a 22 share. The Morning Show (7-9am), anchored by Jennifer Waugh, Bruce Hamilton and Richard Nunn, is #1 in the time period with a 6.6 HH rating and a 19 share beating out all other newscasts including the national broadcasts of NBC’s Today Show on WTLV, CBS This Morning on WJAX and ABC’s Good Morning America on WJXX. This marks the 68th consecutive month WJXT has won the 7am-9am time period. At 9am, The Morning Show 2 dominates Today Show 2 by more than two full rating points with a 4.2.

In Evening News, News4JAX at 5pm is most watched in the time period with a 6.3 household rating. News4JAX at 5:30pm is #1 in the time period with a 6.8 household rating. News4JAX at 6pm anchored by Mary Baer, Tom Wills, John Gaughan and Sam Kouvaris is #1 with a 7.6 household rating and a 13 share.
The story continues in Late News, with wins in The Ten O’Clock News at 10pm and 10:30pm. WJXT is #1 at 10pm with a 6.0 and again at 10:30pm with a 4.5, both more than doubling Action News ratings.
In addition, February was the first full month of WJXT’s new 4pm news. News4JAX at 4pm finished the month by increasing ratings in the time period with a 2.4 household rating and 5 share.
In prime time, despite airing against network competitors, WJXT finished #2 beating NBC, FOX, ABC and CW.
