Terri Cope-Walton
Vice President & General Manager, WJXT & WCWJ - JACKSONVILLE
Terri Cope-Walton joined Graham Media Group on Nov. 15, 2021 as Vice President and General Manager of WJXT-TV and WCWJ-TV, the group’s duopoly in Jacksonville, Florida.
Before joining Graham Media Group, she served as News Director at WRTV in Indianapolis, Indiana, from 2013 to 2021. Prior to that, she also served at WRTV as the Assistant News Director from 2012 to 2013. Previously, Cope-Walton worked in production at various news outlets, as well as being a talk show host and teacher.
Cope-Walton has earned numerous Emmy Awards; a regional Edward R. Murrow Award; a National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Indy Trailblazers Award; Indiana Broadcasters Association Spectrum Award for Community Service; led a station that was recognized several times by the Indiana Broadcasters Association as Station of the Year; and has been a Ball State University Indiana Women of Achievement Awards honoree, Indianapolis Minority Business Magazine “Champion of Diversity” honoree, Indianapolis Business Journal “Women of Influence” honoree, “Who’s Who in Black Indianapolis” honoree and Center for Leadership Development Minority Achievers Award honoree.
Cope-Walton is a graduate of Central State University in Ohio with a BA in English Literature. She also holds a Diversity and Inclusion certificate from Cornell University.
Cope-Walton has served professionally on the National Academy of Televisions Arts & Sciences Board of Governors; Radio, Television & Digital News Association and as an advisory board member at the Ohio University at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. She’s also a lifetime member of the National Association of Black Journalists, among other achievements.
Terri and her husband, John, have two children.
